The Weatherford College Wesley Foundation is the United Methodist student center located at Weatherford College in, you guessed it, Weatherford, Texas. We seek to be a sort of "home away from home" for the students while they're here at school, giving them a way to participate in a faith community specialized to fit their needs. We're an extension ministry of the Methodist church, which simply means that we're here to occupy the space that larger churches are unable to fill.
College is a time when students find themselves bombarded by constantly changing and conflicting messages, and many college students fall away from the Church during these years. That gap in the church is exactly what the Wesley Foundations try to fill, providing students with a safe place and supportive environment in which to grow. We truly are here for the students in whatever way they need, and we seek to live up to the old Wesleyan idea of meeting the people where they are. No matter where you are, you can find a home at the Wesley.
Zachary Langer is the campus minister at the Weatherford College Wesley Foundation. Zac graduated from Texas A&M University in August 2014 with a degree in English Literature, but more importantly, he found a love for campus ministry at the A&M Wesley Foundation. After spending two years as an active student, serving in leadership positions within the Wesley Foundation and around the Texas Annual Conference, he started work as a full-time intern. He began serving in Weatherford and pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth in 2015.
Pat Noe is the assistant director at the Wesley Foundation, but she likes to describe herself as the Wesley Mom. She grew up here in Weatherford. After attending Baylor University in Waco and Dallas, as well as a year in Memphis, TN, she and her husband Richard settled in Weatherford to raise their ridiculously large family. She is an active member at Couts UMC here in Weatherford and the Financial Secretary at Silver Creek UMC in Azle. In her spare time, she enjoys homeschooling the six children still at home, cooking, crochet, sewing, and enjoying her family which currently includes nine grandchildren.
